Subject: [announce] Update on Status of Scouting Activities

Hello Troop – following on the further announcement from Governor Baker about schools being closed through the end of the current school year, we will not be having any in-person, regular troop meetings during May and June.  We have been awaiting a further, formal update from Mayflower Council about the status of scouting activities, but at this point, they have not announced a status past April 30th.  That said, I have to believe it’s really just a formality for at least the month of May, so at this point we’ll also proceed with cancelling our May 8th – 10th camping weekend at Camp Squanto.  We’ll leave June activities in the TBD category for the time being.

For those feeling bummed out to be missing the joys of camping, there are a couple of opportunities scouts  (and their families) may wish to consider….

Please consider taking advantage of these and other virtual scouting opportunities available to you at the troop, Council and national level.

 YIS,  Mr. Giese
